1994-02 5.9L Dodge Cummins Exhaust Brakes - BD / PacBrake / Banks
At Diesel Power Products we carry exhaust brakes from the two biggest names in the diesel exhaust brake industry. Both BD Engine Brake and PacBrake have long been recognized as the innovators when it comes to light duty Dodge Cummins exhaust brakes. All 94-02 Cummins equipped with an automatic transmission will require a torque converter lockup for full exhaust brake function. This is due to the fact that on these trucks, when the accelerator pedal is released, the torque converter goes into a kind of free spin, similar to depressing the clutch pedal on a manual transmission, thus not transferring 100% of the braking through the drive train to the rear tires. On 94-98 12 valve trucks, they require 60 psi exhaust valve springs, because the factory springs are not rated for the amount of pressure the exhaust brake produces. On Pacbrake kits, these two options come with the kit, simply choose what your transmission type is from the drop down menu. On BD kits, you must simply purchase these products separately, we recommend the BD TowLoc for torque converter lockup with a BD exhaust brake.
The PacBrake kits all come now as the new MaxFlow PRXB exhaust brake that has a variable wastegate to produce better retarding at lower RPM's and features a larger turbo elbow, creating a true 4" outlet on your factory turbo, creating lower EGT's and quicker spool up.
