Diesel fuel produced before 2007, known as Low Sulfur Diesel (LSD), contained 50 points of cetane, give or take. Upon the release of Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) post 2007, due in large part to the decrease of sulfur content, the cetane level also dropped to roughly 42-45 points. Especially if you own a pre-2007 diesel vehicle, adding cetane can be extremely beneficial. FPPF makes a great fuel additive for Diesel Trucks called Powerful 8+ Cetane Improver. It does exactly what the label states, it increases the Cetane of ultra low sulfur fuels to about 3 points above pre-2007 levels. This really supports the diesel truck and promotes:
