2007.5-11 Dodge Ram Cummins 6.7L

The Cool Hose was developed to be a direct replacement for the stock intake duct located between the turbocharger and the stock air box. The stock duct contains a noise silencer which has been proven to disrupt air flow through the duct, resulting in increased air flow restriction and loss of power.

Testing on the Cool Hose revealed that the rubber duct had a substantial effect on lessening the engine compartment heat transferred into the air stream inside the duct. Any rise in intake air temperature results in less dense air going to the engine, causing a loss in power and increase in EGT when the engine is operating at medium to full throttle. Our Cool Hose air intake duct provides the coolest air to the turbocharger and engine and has the lowest heat transfer of any other commercially available intake tube tested.

Cool Hose intake duct is constructed with 5-layers of reinforced webbing for lasting strength and durability. The hose has a 5 large equally spaced stainless steel rings around the exterior of duct to provide added resistance against collapse. The tapered 4 ½" to 4” diameter silicone rubber hose has large bend radiuses to provide for the smoothest air flow possible to the turbocharger.

Benefits:

Lower EGT: Cooler intake air is denser which allows the engine to make the same power with less fuel. Less fuel in the combustion chamber will result in lower exhaust gas temperature (EGT). An EGT reduction of 25°F is not uncommon when additional cold intake air is delivered to the turbocharger through the Cool Hose. Since cooler intake air lowers EGT, more fuel can be injected into the combustion chamber to increase power and still remain below the maximum recommended EGT.

Lower intake air temperature for more power: Air intake temperature at the turbocharger is up to 7.5° F cooler than the OEM heavy plastic intake duct resulting in 1.5% more power under heavy load full throttle applications. Aftermarket metal or plastic air intake ducts will have air intake temperatures at the turbocharger between 3 to14° F hotter than the Cool Hose. Cooler air intake temperature results in an increase in air density and allows your Cummins to make more power when racing and towing heavy trailers or loads on hot days.

Lower intake air flow restriction: Replacing the OEM intake duct with a tapered 4 ½” to 4” inside diameter duct throughout the duct length and with the largest radius bends in the industry allows the Cool Hose to have one of the lowest air flow restriction of any intake duct (70% lower than stock). This allows the turbocharger to respond to throttle changes quicker, resulting in faster turbocharger spool-up, better boost response and increased boost pressure for more power at mid-range and top end.

Faster engine cool down: The high insulating value of the rubber Cool Hose keeps hot engine compartment heat out of the intake air stream better than any other aftermarket intake duct, resulting in faster engine cool down prior to shutting down an engine.
