Aftermarket organic clutches are generally better than the OEM clutch you get from your dealer. This is due to the better quality materials used and the quality of the manufacturing process and QC. Some companies also offer higher plate loads as options to the standard plate thus giving the clutch better holding ability. IMPORTANT NOTE: This clutch will typically create additional gear rollover noise compared to the stock clutch. Gear rollover noise is not covered under warranty as it is not a malfunction of the clutch, just a secondary result of upgrading to a solid flywheel style of clutch from the factory dual mass flywheel.

When we at Diesel Power Products started shopping around for a diesel clutch manufacturer to showcase, we had a lot of choices. It soon became clear that one company offered the combination of quality, durability, customer service, price and integrity that we were looking for. Valair Clutch has not failed to live up to our expectations.

Valair started as Vallance Remanufacturing in Mineral Wells, Texas, about 60 miles West of Fort Worth, in the early 1990s. The company concentrated on rebuilding clutch assemblies for heavy trucks and agriculture. The location allowed Valair to keep cost low and supply the Dallas/Fort Worth area as well as the local areas with quality replacement parts.

In 2004, Valair addressed an interest in the performance clutch market for high horsepower diesel trucks. Research and development started to source the parts for these applications. Valair was already building clutches for most OTR trucks capable of holding up to 2250 ft. lbs torque and was adapting these principles from these OTR clutches into a smaller package for ¾ and 1 ton trucks.

After two years of R&D, Valair's ˜Performance Series Clutches were marketed to the diesel truck enthusiast who wanted a quality high performance clutch at a reasonable price. All of these clutches are assembled in Mineral Wells, Texas from the highest quality parts available and are now being sold all over the World.

"I would not buy this again there is something seriously wrong with this clutch I did everything correctly so I know it doesn’t have to go with installation the truck jumps and hops back and forth when pushing in out letting the clutch out when starting or down shifting and it is chattering and making some really concerning noises it’s so bad to the point where I had to park the truck it’s not drivable the gear roll over noise is so loud you can’t hear yourself talk I have never heard a aftermarket clutch make this much gear roll over noise I’ve contacted valair multiple times and they haven’t answered so far I’m very disappointed"

Definitely handles the power of my truck much. . .

"Definitely handles the power of my truck much better than the stock rated Luk, which has 160/80 injectors and S366 turbo (and all the supporting mods). It has a stiffer feel and definitely holds stronger. Feathering the clutch does not work very well as it starts to buck and kick a bit as it tries to grab. It was a necessary improvement and overall has not been a disappointment."
