EGT's running too high? Can't use all of the fuel you have available? The GDP Air-Boss intake plate gives the largest flow increase possible short of milling the cast plenum off the head and installing a fabricated intake plenum. The Air-Boss plenum isn't just a replacement flat aluminum plate as seen in other designs. The Air-Boss is a true, elevated plate designed to flow as much air as possible to cylinders 4, 5, and 6. We've all have seen the head gasket failures between the hottest running #5 and #6 cylinders. With this plate design GDP opened up the plenum area to the starving rear cylinder by a full 30%. By increasing airflow to the rear cylinders, it reduces EGT's and allow you to run even higher fueling levels.The Air-Boss plenum kit also includes a shortened grid heater delete block to maintain the factory IC piping to intake manifold connection geometry . Maintaining this geometry makes the Air-Boss plenum compatible with ALL aftermarket intake manifolds and the stock mounting hardware.GRID HEATER OPTIONS: A) The standard Air-Boss CR kit includes a custom height grid heater delete block. "Definitely works, and the new plenum plate almost doubles the internal volume of the stock plenum/stock plate setup. Looks sharp too! Running it with a monster ram, banks IC and banks piping, I’d say the whole setup has bought me about 125hp untuned, dropped my EGTs about 550 degrees, and doubled my torque numbers. Also noticed a peak and across the board decrease in boost PSI, which tells me it’s flowing more air with less restriction! Would highly recommend, and if you want to take it a step further with EGT drop and airflow, invest in a good IC, piping, and intake horn. That makes this lid shine!"

"Good looking product. Install was easy other than pulling the fuel rail but I like it and it looks good! It does work with s&b intake horn and pac brake exhaust brake, you just gotta get creative on bolt selection and mounting the compressor. The only thing I would change is the intake horn. Looks like the banks mounts a little different."

Q&A

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 with a grid heater delete block. Which kit will I need for proper install? Is this product really worth it? Thanks for your time.
You will want the "Custom Grid Heater Delete Block" option which will include a grid heater delete block, as well, but this is to ensure you have the correct length studs for proper fitment.
Will this work with the banks monster ram intake Can this part be powder coated? Do I need a tune?
That would work just fine with a Banks monster ram. It could be powdercoated for sure. I would see if you can seal off the bolt holes and sensor holes just to make assembly easier. You may end up with a check engine light for the grid heater if it is not tuned out. -Sands
Why will it not fit a 94 5.9?
Gosh, without actually trying to install it I can't give you a 100 percent yes or no. What I do know, is the inlet is in a different spot(further forward). It will have several holes for injector line brackets that you will not have. And the gaskets between 89-02 and 03-18 are different. Sorry I can't give you a definitive answer on that one. I would say no though. -Sands
How we supposed to fit new updated injection line 4 it has a different bushing design you cannot remove bracket #4 line is known for cracking and cummins updated it themselves.
I spoke to the manufacturer and they have not run into that situation yet. I would recommend finding an older style line. Without the product and newer line in my hands not what could be done to get it to fit. -Sands
If used with the factory grid heater does it maintain factory plenum height/geometry for the factory CAC plumbing?
It is going to have a raised plenum. With the stock grid heater you may need a little longer boot, I would say a majority of trucks can use the factory one though if you loosen the clamps and reposition it. -Sands
