But what's the point of removing entrained air from diesel fuel?
Diesel engines and fuel systems are designed on a test bench in optimum conditions.  However, our trucks are obviously RARELY used in optimum conditions.  We drive on rough roads with varying speeds and RPM's in different climates, barometric pressures, and humidity.  All of these factors lead to great amounts of air and vapors being accumulated into our fuel tank, fuel lines, etc.  Entrained air in the fuel system can create any or all of the following symptoms:

Low Horsepower Low Fuel Mileage / Poor Fuel Mileage Excessive Smoke Injector Failure Hard Start or Will Not Start Engine Surges at Low Idle Warm Engine Runs Rough or Misfires in Operating Range Rough Idle Engine Will Not Reach Rated Speed When Loaded

FASS Configurations: 

Platinum Series is the new FASS Series that features a two-in-one water separator and fuel filter.

Titanium Series is the same as the old FASS 95 Series which has a new, smaller, more compact set-up with smaller filters. Filter life is about 1/3 to 1/2 that of the HD Series filters.

HD Series is the same as the old FASS 150 Series which is the same FASS system that we have been selling for quite some time. Uses the same filters as before.

HPFP ( High Performance Fuel Pumps ) are available for those wanting a reliable fuel system without the added filtering.

FASS Flow Rates:

95gph is for stock to 600HP applications. This is the kit for most people.

150gph is for 600HP to 700HP applications.

200gph is for 700HP+ applications only.

Note: You do not want to run a pump with a higher gallon per hour rating than your engines horsepower or the life of the FASS fuel pump will be greatly reduced. Pump noise is greatly enhanced with the larger flowing pumps.

Note:  All FASS Fuel Air Separator Systems and the High Performance Fuel Pump systems are complete kits. They come with the hoses, fittings, mounting hardware, etc to do the job. Everything needed to complete the install should be included, except tools and wire ties. 

If you have a 98.5-04.5 truck it came from the factory with a block mounted lift pump.  Dodge has retrofitted many of these trucks with the later in-tank pumps.  Before ordering you need to determine where your current lift pump is.  This can easily be done by turning the key on and listening for the pump.  If you have the in-tank retrofit kit you will need to order a pick-up tube kit (sku# STK-1001), which is available in the drop down labeled "Lift Pump Location," and you will choose the option "In-Tank."

Ordering Replacement Fuel Filters and Water Separators

This is a a great time to grab a few replacement filters with your new FASS system. Below you can add an extra Water Separator/Fuel Filter. It is always recommended that you keep a spare filter in your truck at all times. The fuel filter requires changing about every 12k-15k miles.  Save money by ordering with your kit. We give you a small discount and free shipping when purchased with your new FASS. The 3 Micron Fuel filter is included in the options below, is part number FF-1003. If you prefer the 10 micron version, just give us a call. The replacement water separator  part number is FS-1001. The water separators don't usually go bad, but can get hurt from wear and tear. It is a good idea to have a spare on just in case.
