This is not your ordinary fuel sump! Single hole installation coupled with an integrated return port and stand pipe make this the most complete and well thought out sump on the market.

For those unfamiliar with what a fuel tank sump is or what the reasoning is behind it, lets first cover that. Especially when upgrading to an aftermarket lift pump, such as FASS or Airdog, it is imperative to change how the fuel is transferred from the tank to the pump. Many systems use pick up tubes that can lead to instances in which residual fuel cannot be drawn from the tank, typically called "1/4 tank issues" because the tube is unable to suck the bottom 25% of fuel. Further, these types of assemblies feature a hard 90 degree bend at the top of the tube causing a reduction in fuel velocity.

Traditional sumps require you to drill a single 3" hole at the lowest point of your tank, coupled with ten or more holes around the perimeter of this hole in order to secure the outer portion of the sump to the portion inside of the tank. Further, most sumps only feature a single port for your feed or supply line, but require you to splice a return line into your filler neck. Some models do include a feed and return at the base of the sump, such as this one, but they do not have an included stand pipe that causes fuel to be returned in the same bowl as the feed, causing air entrapment. This entrained air leads to an inconsistent fuel delivery to your lift pump, leading to a plethora of other issues. This GRP Sump includes a stand pipe that marries to the return port at the base of the sump forcing fuel away from the lower bowl, both eliminating entrained air as well as the necessity to splice a return into your filler neck....a definite win-win!

IMPORTANT NOTE:
GRP's product line was originally intended for installation shops and to be purchased in bulk quantity, which in turn means that there are no installation instructions that come with any of their products. We feel that this compromise is easily countered with the exceptional craftsmanship that goes into these kits, as well as the price point. If you are unsure of how to install any of their components, but still want to tackle the job yourself, there are plenty of generic installation videos available on-line that will allow you to still take advantage of the benefits of purchasing GRP.

Perfect for the DIY without having to drop the tank!
After the intank pump on my 2004.5 Dodge Ram 3500 started to falter, I opted to go completely mechanical with my fuel system. This sump is the perfect answer on how to get the fuel to the pump and eliminate the 1/4 tank issues! One 3 inch hole in the lowest point of the tank and no having to remove either the bed or the tank from the truck. Quick and easy installation!! Would buy this again in a heart beat!!

Easy instal/great product
Install was easy even without instructions. Drain the fuel cut a hole in the tank and bolt it down. The main reason I gave it 4 stars is because you can't get a full turn on the fitting because of a lip that sticks out above the flat machines surface for the fittings if there was more room putting the closed end of a wrench or even a socket would making installation of the fittings easier and not slightly stripping the fittings. Also you should use some sort of thread lock/sealer compound or it may leak like mine did and I had to buy fittings so it would work with factory size fuel lines which is 3/8 supply and 5/16 return on a 12 valve. Keep the old fittings in case you ever upgrade to 1/2 hoses with a bigger pump.

Does this come with a hole saw? If not what size do I need? Cheers, Cody Jack Roberts?

This item does not include a hole saw, you would need a 3"" diameter saw.
