When it comes to the mighty Cummins diesel engine, they are known for longevity. That being said, the one part of the entire system that is known to fail is that of the fuel system, specifically the injectors. Due to extremely high pressure and sometimes substandard fuel quality, the injector nozzles and valves are subject to premature failure. • When replacing the injector(s), it is extremely important to also replace the injector connector tube(s) to each replaced injector. In most cases, the original connector tube can be essentially seated into the original injector, which leaves an impression at the tip of the tube. At this impression, leaks can develop because it may not seat into the new injector as the tube did with the original.
• This injector is only intended for fitment into pickup models, not cab and chassis. For reference, a pickup model would have come from the factory with a typical pickup bed, where a cab and chassis has no bed as it is intended for upfit with a flatbed, service body, etc.
