FASS LIFT PUMPS, FUEL FILTERS, AND MORE

When it comes to fuel systems, FASS has you covered from fuel tank all the way to your injection pump to ensure you’re not guessing how to make this part match up to that or what other components you’ll need and who to get it from. When it comes time to service your FASS Titanium Fuel System with new filters, you can opt for their standard direct replacement offering or the Extended Lenth Particulate Filters and Water Separation Filters. And because sometimes you might find yourself in the middle of nowhere with a bad batch of fuel and no extra FASS filters, FASS systems are designed with cross reference filters in mind, and they even publish that cross reference sheet on their website. When installing a FASS system, or maybe after the fact, maybe you want to eliminate the ugly, unused stock fuel filter….no problem, FASS has a complete line up of fuel filter deletes and other accessories to clean up your engine bay. Maybe you live in a colder climate and realizing that once you bypassed your stock fuel filter it also removed your stock fuel heater….FASS has you covered yet again. Yes, you can have all of the factory creature comforts but still a high flowing, properly filtered fuel system.

EXPERIENCE A FASS FUEL SYSTEM FOR YOURSELF

While FASS is most known for their Titanium Signature Series Fuel System that includes an integrated fuel filter and water separator, FASS also builds other popular systems. Do you like the idea of a higher volume frame mounted lift pump, but prefer to keep the stock filtration and fuel heater? The Signature Series Adjustable Fuel Pumps are your answer. Or maybe you’ve got a Cummins with the original block mounted pump that’s finally let go and you’re not ready to invest in a complete system. Okay, the DRP (Direct Replacement Pump) is a great option. Maybe you have a Duramax and just looking for a little extra oomph of fuel to your injection pump. Similar to the DRP for Rams, FASS has their Dura-Max Diesel Flow Enhancer.

Overall, you can never go wrong upgrading your truck with a FASS Fuel System. As always, if you have any questions about which system is right for you, don’t hesitate to reach out and we will be happy to steer you in the right direction.

We get a lot of calls and e-mails each day with various product, vehicle, and installation questions. Some are completely off the wall and can even catch us off guard at times, but many others are fairly routine, so we thought we'd post some of the most popular questions regarding FASS products that can hopefully be a good resource for you.

Q: Where is FASS Fuel Systems based out of?
A: Marthasville, Missouri

Q: What is FASS? What does it stand for?
A: FASS stands for Fuel Air Separation System. Simply put, a FASS fuel system combines a fuel lift pump with filtration and air separation to deliver exceptionally clean and purified fuel.

Q: I have good lift pump pressure, do I need a FASS?
A: While most people upgrade to a FASS due to inadequate fuel supply (low psi), there are numerous other reasons to upgrade! As previously stated, a FASS fuel system (specifically a Titanium Series) will filter your fuel down to two microns, well beyond the stock filtration, remove water, but also remove air, something your stock system simply cannot do. As you're driving down the road, air becomes entrapped into your fuel, literally creating air bubbles that are then passed into your fuel pump, injection pump, and ultimately your injectors. This air will cause caviation of your fuel system resulting in delayed fuel timing. Because FASS removes this air, your engine will run smoother, have more power, and even greater fuel economy!

Q: I need to replace my FASS filters but don't have any extras. Can I just go get some from my local parts store?
A: Fortunately, FASS does publish a complete cross reference sheet for this exact situation. CLICK HERE to be directed to this cross reference guide.

Q: What is the warranty on FASS Fuel Systems?
A: Titanium and Adjustable Fuel Pumps include a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. The DRP and Dura-Max Flow Enhancer each carry a four year warranty. That said, you must register your product with FASS in order to be eligible for this warranty, otherwise you will only have a one year warranty.

Q: I see numerous options for my application with varying GPH (Gallons Per Hour) ratings. How do I know which one is right for me?
A: Our product listings will describe the horsepower range each pump is intended to support. Fortunately, each level does support a range so you have the ability to let the pump support your truck as you make alterations to the power.

Q: Does it come with everything needed for installation, or am I going to be running to the parts store in the middle of the install?
A: FASS systems will come with everything you need for a complete installation.

Q: I have a 2004 Cummins and see options for either having a factory in-tank or block mounted lift pump. I'm not sure what that means or how I find out.
A: From the factory, Ram trucks came with a fuel pump mounted on the engine block through model years 2004.5. Beginning in model year 2005, the lift pumps are mounted in the fuel pick-up module (sending unit) inside of the fuel tank. Shortly after this release, Ram superseded the factory block mounted lift pump to this in-tank version so that if you ever had a lift pump failure and went to the dealer, they would convert your truck to now having an in-tank lift pump. What this means is that if you have a 1998.5-2004.5 Cummins, your lift pump could either be in the engine bay or inside of the fuel tank and each version requires a different FASS part number to accommodate for each variation. If you're not sure where your lift pump is located, the simplest method is to turn the key to the forward position before you'd actually allow the engine to crank over, which engages the lift pump. Now, listen for the "hum" of the pump. Is it coming from the front or the back of the truck? Okay, but what if your lift pump is completely dead and doesn't make any noise whatsoever? This will require you to trace your fuel feed line that goes from the fuel tank to the injection pump. As you get to the engine bay follow the feed line to see if it passes through a cylindrical shaped pump at the fuel filter. If the fuel line goes through it, you still have a block mounted pump. Now, if you see the pump but the feed line goes right past it, you have an in-tank pump and when the truck was converted, they just left the old lift pump in place.

As always, if you have additional questions about which FASS pump is right for you and your truck, don't hesitate to give us a call, send an e-mail, or start a chat and we would be happy to assist!
