The Auto Meter "Factory-Match" Exhaust Temperature gauges are 2 1/16" in diameter and features a white face, black lettering, orange indicator, and a black bezel for a great match in the 3rd Gen Dodge Rams. It has a stepper motor movement, and is available in either 0-1600 or 0-2000 degree variants. The styling of this gauges is intended to replicate that of the 2003-2009 Ram's factory gauges, however, the gauge itself can be installed into any vehicle.

What's up my little #2 burners?? Ok, today I am reviewing my recent purchase and install of the Autometer Factory Match EGT gauge kit. The people at DPP hooked me up with the complete kit of factory match gauges and mounting pods. My truck is an 06 Ram 3500 Mega-Cab 5.9 CR. As I've come to expect, DPP customer support and shipping was top notch so no complaints there. In the gauge pack was this little gem of a gauge and install kit. Directions are included for it and all the associated hardware as well. You will need some hand tools and a 21/64th bit and 1/8th NPT tap to complete this properly. I also used some high temp thread locker so the adapter would stay forever. Install was straight forward and after a clarification from Tyler at DPP on install location, I got it installed. Installation is easy enough my 14 year old son could have done it, but if you think I'm letting that boy take a drill to my exhaust manifold, well you would be wrong. I must admit it's a bit creepy drilling a hole into the manifold above the turbo, but in the end it was like every other hole you have ever drilled. There is enough room on my truck to tuck a drill up in there to make it happen so nothing needed removing. I ran a vacuum during the drilling and slowly got through. There are tons of tips and ideas on the web about avoiding any debris falling into the turbo, choose the one that makes you happy. The gauge is well built, the wires and probe are long enough to reach about anywhere in the truck, illumination is great and its heat sensitivity is great. Nothing like watching the temperatures climb faster than the speedometer... Turns out I'm running around 1200 deg at WOT lol. The hardest part I had was finding a good ignition switch wire to tap into (ended up under the hood for that). That wire is very important because the gauge recalibrates each time you start up. In the end it's a great gauge and matches the factory look very good. Install time was around 2 hours and that covered a couple YouTube videos of diesel trucks at the drag strip. I recommend this gauge, as long as you buy it from DPP that is.
