I was born and raised in Spokane WA. My earliest memory is of my dad putting me on a stool in the shop, handing me some tools and a carburetor to work on while he was building engines. To say I was raised around engines and horsepower is an understatement. As hard working people, my parents taught me that good enough wasn't OK and my best was expected. Eventually I started going to work with my dad on weekends occasionally, this is where I was exposed to diesel and heavy equipment. The size of the engines was amazing and the sound of a diesel running at governed speed under load was pure music to me.

After high school I enlisted in the Air Force. I was in class and watched the second plane hit the World Trade Center on TV, I didn't know what else I could do other than go do my part for our country. I worked as an airframe structural technician on C17s at McChord AFB in Tacoma WA. and ended my 4 year enlistment with a year in the base honor guard performing funerals and color guards for events.

After the AF I came back home and attended Spokane Community College and got a diesel science degree. At this point my love for diesel really took off. I found work in a fleet shop after graduating and learned the trade. After a few years I wanted more and transitioned to the local Caterpillar dealership. I soon got my Truck Engine Analyst certification which opened up a whole new world. Loading engines down on a dyno while monitoring them to both troubleshoot and tune. It really felt like what I was made for. After years in that shop and a serious injury I was forced to make a decision: continue to do the work I loved or preserve my body so I was able to pursue my passions for music, ameture radio, hiking, cycling, canoeing and generally being outside with my wife and dog. And naturally work on my own projects.

I quickly found out I didn't have to choose. My amazing and supportive wife has always been very invested in my success and she saw a job listing for Diesel Power Products. I knew the name because I had bought a few parts for my first gen from them so I went for it. Now here I am with a company that not only feeds my love of diesel, but feeds my drive for making more horsepower.
