Description
With the release of the 2020 model year Chevrolet and GMC L5P Duramax powered trucks came the unveiling of the all new 10 speed Allison transmission. As the Big 3 automakers continue to push the envelope with horsepower and torque figures, transmissions have to follow suit in order to support this kind of power. That, coupled with ever stringent emissions regulations on these trucks means it more important than ever to keep the engines in their ideal powerband, and by having more gear selections, its easier than ever to do.

With all of this extra power, GM was able to also increase their maximum towing capacity, all the way up to 35,500 pounds when properly equipped. To also aid in this massive increase, the rear axle's ring gear was increased to a massive 12" on 3500 models, compared to the 11.5" AAM that has been in service since 2001.

Now, with all of this power, its imperative to keep all of your fluids cool to ensure the powertrain's overall longevity, and there's no better way than by replacing the factory stamped steel transmission pan and differential covers with a higher quality unit featuring a larger capacity and heat-sinking fins.....plus these upgrades look pretty cool, too. We offer various upgrades to accomplish this, and, as always, if you are having any issues determining the right parts for you and your truck, do not hesitate to give us a call or send an e-mail to cs@dieselpowerproducts.com and we would be happy to assist.
