There's numerous reasons to replace the cab mounts on your SuperDuty. But definitely the most obvious is for those installing head studs. Think of it this way, the easiest way to install head studs on your Powerstroke is to pull the cab, and if you're going through all of the expense and time of pulling the cab, doesn't it make sense to replace your worn out cab to frame isolators with a fresh set?
Over time, your factory cab mounts become hard and brittle due to years of service and being exposed to the elements. When this happens, the cab can become situated irregularly on the frame. Further, the stock mounts tend to transmit considerable vibration from the chassis to the cab as they are no longer able to absorb this any longer. While we would recommend upgrading the factory mounts to anyone, there's no better time to do it than when you have the cab off doing repairs or upgrades.
