This is the most advanced, most efficient way of getting fuel from your tank to your pump to ever hit the diesel market! FASS delivers their sump/suction tube kit that takes the best of BOTH worlds! First of all, this utilizes FASS' proprietary head unit design for drawing and returning fuel out of the tank.
What makes this design so unique is the way that fuel is returned to the tank, it shoots the fuel at an angle, avoiding the lower bowl to prevent against the fuel getting mixed around. Next, this head unit attached to FASS' pick up assembly that connects into a sump system that mounts to the bottom of the tank, drawing fuel from the lowest possible point. This sump can also be used as a traditional sump to draw fuel from the bottom of the tank and run along the base of the fuel tank.

How does this sump work with the fuel pump??
You would have to be running the FASS pump to utilize this sump/tube kit. After you install the sump and suction tube in your fuel tank , that is where the FASS pump will pickup fuel from.
i have a 2012 duramax do i need a sump kit to go with the lift pump??
No, a sump kit is not 100% required.
I am fitting a FASS STK-5500 Suction Tube Kit to a Titan GM 39 Gallon cross-linked fuel tank. The basket on the pickup is offset to the top flange making it difficult to determine the exact location to drill the hole in the bottom of the tank. Does the pickup have to be routed thru the basket or can I locate it in another section of the tank bottom??
You can locate that wherever is the most convenient spot at around the lowest part of the tank. It doesn't have to be routed through the basket.
