Description
Eliminate the factory fuel restriction above 3,000 RPM with this affordable upgrade from Fleece Performance for your Duramax! The Fleece Performance CP3K is a modified Duramax LBZ CP3 designed to eliminate the factory fuel flow restriction that begins at 3,000 RPM. If you have a stock CP3 pump you are losing fuel flow and rail pressure after 3000 RPM, which correlates to lost horsepower when you need it most. This cost effective upgrade will allow you to maintain desired fuel rail pressure through your entire RPM range, and is also a great upgrade for a dual CP3 kit for increased displacement.IMPORTANT NOTES: Every Fleece Performance CP3 is tested on their in-house engine simulator and pump test stand to simulate real world situations and ensure that each pump is ready to work. Fleece builds their pumps from BRAND NEW CP3's, which means NO CORE CHARGE and NO USED PARTS! The fuel pressure regulator will need to be scaled appropriately when installed in a 2001-2005 LB7 or LLY. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Q : What size injectors does the CP3K support? A: Injector size should be based off of desired horsepower goals, truck uses, and tuning capabilities. Commanded main injection duration, or tuning, ultimately determines what size injector a CP3 will support. Our PowerFlo750 will support our 100hp injector at 2600uS with no issue, resulting in over 750RWHP if your turbo will support that. Some people have seen over 800rwhp with shorter duration's and larger injectors on FPE 68mm turbo's and larger. Q : What is Main Injection Duration? A: Main Injection Duration is the amount of time that the injector is turned on or energized. Measured in micro-seconds (uS) it is sometimes referred to as pulse-width. Q : What does a CP3 Pump do? A: A common rail fuel system is most easily related to supply demand. Commanded main injection duration, the demand, while the CP3 is the supply. The bigger the injector and/or longer the commanded duration, the higher the demand. CP3's are limited to what they can supply (Volume) based on displacement RPM. As demand increases beyond the CP3's ability to supply, then fuel rail pressure starts to drop.

Q&A

For the CP3K on the LLY duramax it says the fuel pressure regulator needs to be scaled appropriately. Is this done through tuning or is it a different process?
the CP3K is a drop in CP3 that does not require tuning.
How do you scale the fuel pressure regulator is it done through tuning
This cp3 is a drop in replacement and does not require tuning.
From all indications my CP3 has lost the ability to pull fuel from the tank I installed new fuel lines, troubleshot any air and line issues, then installed your in tank fuel pump. This solved the start and run problems. My test drives netted pressures (using a scan tool for the results) from 4400 -5230 (at idle and cruise speed minimal load)- with the maximum pressure ranging from 8600-17480 psi) pressure on acceleration. But I have noticed that starting the vehicle can be tough, even when warm, unless I hook up a charger and get a faster spin from the starter with consistent positive results. It seems that the CP3 will not deliver the 4000 psi necessary to start the motor. Please correct my conclusion if it is incorrect . It sounds like I purchased a great product but this will not provide a long term remedy. I am considering the CP3K as opposed to the stock replacement in order to end this nightmare. Thoughts?
Hard starts can be caused by several issues, sounds like you have addressed fuel delivery. 17k psi seems a bit low. Depending on what truck it is you should be seeing 20k+ on heavy accel. Could be the CP3, could also be just the fuel control actuator on the CP3. It is responsible for controlling the amount of fuel that goes to the CP3 and that controls pressure. There is also the fuel pressure relief valve to consider. If it is leaking, the CP3 will have a tough time building pressure. And then there is injectors.
