The OEM turbos features on the 6.7L Powerstrokes were a relatively new design idea for Ford, or should we say Garrett, the actual manufacturer of the turbo. This new design revolves around what Garrett calls SST, or Single Sequential Turbo, in which TWO compressor wheels are mounted onto a single shaft. This results in many of the benefits of twin turbos having great response off the bottom, coupled with a strong mid-range and top end.
Unfortunately, though, this turbo design has also resulted in numerous failures, especially once modifications begin that enhance the boost levels the truck is seeing.IMPORTANT NOTES
- This turbo is NOT designed for fitment on cab and chassis applications, only Pickup F-250 and F-350 models.

I have a 2011 6.7 F-350 with the OEM Turbo Charger. I am positive it has the ceramic bearings which are known to fail. It has not yet, and I am looking to do some preventative maint work on it and was wondering if the SKU #: GAR-851824-5001 Garrett 851824-5001 OEM Replacement Turbocharger 11-13 6.7L Ford Powerstroke you are offering has the updated steel bearings as opposed to the ceramic and is there a warranty on this part ? Thanks?
This item is still a ceramic ball bearing design, but it does offer an updated bearing cage and race. -MC
