You can rely on the XDP Wrinkle Black Gear Reduction Starter to get your Ford Powerstroke running in the most extreme environments. XDP's Gear Reduction Starters are faster, stronger, and more durable than your factory starter. This gives you the ability to turn over even the most aggressive diesel engines.
XDP's Gear Reduction Starters feature a smaller motor that is faster, more efficient, and draws less amperage. The Gear Reduction Design produces more torque than a factory unit, at about a third of the size. This not only reduces weight, but also makes a more compact design for easier installation. Each starter comes pre-tested, ready for installation and features a durable "Wrinkle Black" finish for corrosion resistance and aesthetics. Includes adapter plate and mounting bolts.

"me and my brother spent over 3 hours just trying to get the bolt in the top hole, they way you guys designed it there is no room for any tool to fit. you made the hole but then let the metal from the starter itself align directly with the hole, maybe 1/6th of an inch away from the top of the hole. so i had to ram the bolt in diagonal and finger screw it. was a dirty mess and it would have been annoying to send it back so just toughed it out. hopefully never need another starter again"

- No this would not, you would still need to utilize the factory solenoid
- Will this fit a 2001 Ford Excursion with a 3 bolt mount starter?

- I'm purchasing new battery cables for my 7.3 , does this require the straight lugs or the 90°?

- I'm not aware of any fitment issues with that starter. And van starters are the same part number it seems for pickups. I don't foresee any issues at all. -Sands
