Description
When it comes time to throw on some larger meats under your one ton Ram, there are a ton of options on the market. For those looking to install up to a 37" tall tire, a 6" system is most likely what you're in the market for, and for a kit of this size, having the correct steering and suspension geometry is imperative to ensure reliability and driving characteristics are maintained. Truth be told, BDS Suspension is at the pinnacle of designing and manufacturing kits to do just this. The lift is designed around the relocation of the factory radius arm in order to correct suspension and steering geometry to work with 6" of lift. The radius arms are relocated with a uniquely designed bracket that mixes the ease of installation you get with an adapter-type bracket with the strength and durability of a full replacement radius arm mount bracket. The new relocation bracket ties into both the factory radius arm frame mount and the side of the frame rail. At the frame, the new mount is fastened with specially machined sleeves and threaded inserts. The threaded inserts (2) do require a minor amount of welding in order to provide the strongest possible connection. This portion of the installation can be completed without welding and then transported to a weld shop to be welded if necessary. But it doesn't stop with the radius arm relocation brackets. The included track bar relocation bracket, dropped pitman arm, and brake line relocation hardware position all of the steering and brake components properly to work with the added ride height provided by the new progressive rate, full replacement coils springs. In the front, sway bar relocation brackets drop the sway bar at the frame to correct the sway bar angle and allow use of the factory sway bar links. New 6" progressive rate coil springs provide the correct ride height and great on and off road ride quality. The front driveshaft on the new Ram trucks has a more limited range of motion compared to the previous generation trucks. In order to correct the driveline angles, BDS includes a new transmission crossmember with an adjustable height transmission mount plate and a transfer case indexing ring kit. Unlike the previous generation trucks, there is not enough clearance between the transfer case and the factory transmission crossmember to install an indexing ring on its own. The new crossmember provides the clearance needed. The ability to adjust the transmission mount height is an added bonus and nice "fine-tuning" feature. The rear of the truck is lifted via a 5" block and u-bolt system which provides a level-to-slightly tail high stance, with available options for a 4" rear block kit or even BDS 4.5" lift Glide-Ride Leaf Springs. AVAILABLE UPGRADE DETAILS: Sway Bar Disconnect: This replacement sway bar link kit from BDS Suspension allows you to easiliy disconnect the sway bar from the axle, deliving unhindered axle articulation. And when its time to hit the road again, just snap them back into place. Adjustable Track Bar: The lift kit includes a track bar relocation bracket, but if you'd like to beef up your front end, there's no better upgrade than an adjustable track bar. Constructed of 1-3/8" solid steel stock, this adjustable track bar is built to handle on and off-road abuse and uses a 1-3/8"-12 fine threaded pinch bolt design turnbuckle to allow easy tuning to properly recenter the front axle for a range of lift heights. Carrier Bearing Drop Kit: For those with a two piece rear driveshaft, you'll want to add this carrier bearing drop kit to eliminate any potential rear driveshaft vibration. Kevlar Lined Stainless Steel Braided Brake Line Kit: Virtually no volumentric expansion that results in a firmer brake pedal feel with less pedal effort.

About BDS Suspension

BDS Suspension was started in 1996 by a business group who felt it was past time to create a suspension company that truly had the best interest of the off road consumer as its' foundation. With over 45 combined years experience with other major suspension companies, both buying and selling, the individuals that would make up the BDS name were frustrated by the lack of quality and the unwillingness to make things right by these 4x4 companies. So, they set out to create a suspension company that would be the best and made a list of the things they felt were not right and made it their mission to correct them.

One of the most important of these wrongs they were looking to right were that of other companies warranties. Too often, the standard protocol was that a broken or damaged part from another manufacturer was denied warranty because of abuse or neglect. For BDS, its simple, if it breaks, they'll replace it, and that is the motto in which they have based their entire warranty off of. So, they welcome you, try and break it, if you do, they'll replace it and probably try to determine a way to increase the rigidity of the product to ensure it never happens again.

BDS LIFT KITS

While most people whom have heard of BDS Suspension automatically think of "lift kits," that ony touches on the wide variety of suspension and steering related products that BDS offers. BDS understands that not everyone is after a complete lift kit, but still after the quality BDS products bring to the table. Some of our most popular products from BDS are replacement adjustable track bars and dual steering stabilizer kits that in many instances can be installed on a completely stock truck, or one that's leveled or lifted. Other popular "non lift kit" parts are leveling kits that include upgraded shocks, progressive rate coil springs, heavy duty control or radius arms, and even leaf springs.
