What do you think about adding a performance chip, a cold air intake, maybe some larger injectors, or even a bigger turbo all in an effort to increase power, only to have your truck's ECM limit you to 24 psi. Pretty dumb, right? Well, that's how it works on the 7.3's, unfortunately. In an effort to avoid "over boosting" (come on, Ford, there's no such thing as too much boost!), the ECM will defuel the truck if the MAP sensor sees over 24 psi of boost. The fix? Easy, install a Beans Over Boost Kit. This regulator goes in between the MAP sensor and intake to allow the MAP sensor to see only 22psi. The regulator is adjustable and easily installed.
