Are you planning on upgrading your stock in-tank lift pump to an external, frame mounted version such as a FASS or AirDog? Because of the fact that your truck has an in-tank lift pump that is part of the basket assembly, you will be required to either install a separate pickup tube that requires drilling a hole in the top of the tank, or an even bigger hole in the bottom of the tank to install a sump. Are you not willing to cut and rearrange most of your fuel tank to keep things running smoothly? S&B's Fuel Sending Unit is the clean and easy way to keep diesel fuel running into your system from a full to an almost empty tank.Fuel pressure is important to keeping your Cummins engine running smoothly, especially after you have made any upgrades to the fueling demand in your high-performance truck, such as with larger displacement injectors or a performance programmer. If fuel pressure isn't steady or drops off completely, you risk damaging what you spent a good part of a paycheck on. Adding on aftermarket lift pumps is crucial to keeping that fuel pressure as high, as it's needed but they run into the same issues after a tank gets to just a 1/4 full.
