Here's your friendly reminder for the day. It takes 2500-3500 psi of fuel rail pressure to start your Duramax. When you also need to be able to push that pressure into the 20,000+range, those pressures have to come from somewhere. that's where your high pressure pump comes in, or commonly referred to as a CP3. Even though some folks see 250k miles of use out of the stock unit, that's not at higher power applications. We tow heavier toys, demand better fuel economy and most importantly, we expect reliability and performance.
Whatever your goal is, more power, better fuel economy or just a steady reliable supply of fuel in tough everyday situations, an upgraded CP3 pump is critical for your success. S&S Diesel Motorsports' 10MM Duramax CP3 pumps support a wide range of horsepower levels from the near stock tow rig, to the weekend offroad enthusiast, specific figures may vary depending on other engine modifications and tuning, they are capable of accommodating horsepower ranges between stock and 750 horsepower with a single CP3.
S&S Diesel Motorsport 10MM CP3
The standard 10MM CP3 pump for the Duramax flows 1,325 mm3 / rev displacement and will fuel to up to 5,000 RPM whereas the factory units will start to fall off at 3,000 RPM. This pump is suited for the everyday used truck, hot street applications, and even towing. With this pump, and the necessary supporting mods to boot, you have the ability to acheive 750-horsepower.
S&S Diesel Motorsport High Speed 10MM
The High-Speed 10MM pump, while still flowing the same 1,325 mm3/ rev, has the additional capacity of fueling up to 5,500 RPM over its younger brother (standard 10MM). This pump is capable of handling the everyday jobs as well, but it is also able to handle more RPM and higher fuel demands for those wanting to turn more RPM. You might be shooting for higher RPM bands for racing, or optimized shift points for towing. If you're aiming for a more performance oriented build, the High-Speed CP3 is for you.
