Description
It is not uncommon for underdrive balance piston snap rings to blow off in transmissions with 68RFE. This can cause severe damage to the overdrive clutch drum and underdrive hub assembly, rendering the clutch hub useless. To prevent this issue, SunCoast has designed and manufactured a snap ring retainer made from 6061-T6 billet aluminum stock. This 68RFE Snap Ring Retainer is .040" taller than the factory one, providing additional spring load tension to prevent expansion and blowing off, which can lead to catastrophic damage. Additionally, the retainer is designed with anti-rotational tabs to ensure that no movement occurs. It is important to note that this SunCoast Billet 68RFE Snap Ring Retainer must be used in conjunction with the factory snap ring.
