Description
Does your Duramax have a little wander in the steering? In many instances, this is caused by a worn pitman and/or idler arm. Because of the nature of these steering components, they are best to be replaced together which will deliver an immediately noticeable increase in steering responsiveness. And for those that would rather get an upgrade over stock, this Extreme Duty version from Rare Parts is just that, especially useful for trucks with oversized tires. IMPORTANT NOTE: This kit includes a 3 master spline pitman arm, which is by far the most prevalent. However, there have been known some applications with a 4 master spline pitman arm. Please confirm fitment by removing the nut at the pitman arm and counting the master splines. If you have a 4 spline arm, we offer these components separately.

Stout!!!

"I was debating between the rare parts pitman and idler arms and the moog ones. . . so I'm glad I went with these. You can just tell how much more beefy they are and made in the USA!! Can't go wrong with this pair, steering got tighter that's for sure."

Javier (5/5)

Somewhat happy

"First I'd like to say these parts do have more material and bigger internals than the oem and some other aftermarket manufacturers. That being said I will say that I like the style of the OEM pitman arm that I pulled off to install the Rare Parts pitman arm. The OEM pitman arm that I pulled off had a stud that didn't wobble. The Rare Parts pitman arm stud is a ball stud so it wobbles. This calls for the added purchase of the PISK kit to stabilize the pitman arm. The idler arm has a stud that does not wobble due to the reverse pin design. I wish they would incorporate this into the pitman arm so I wouldn't have to purchase the PISK kit. Both items are superior in every other way with bigger internals and more material."

Q&A

I just bought #20609 and the stud wobbles in every direction. Is it supposed to be this way and if so why?
It is a ball joint. So you should be able to rotate the stud around with some force. It is not going to only rotate. -Sands
Any warranty with these?
These have a 1 year manufacturers defect warranty. -Ben
Are these cross thread or fine thread studs?
I think you meant coarse thread, and yes it would be coarse thread.-Sands
