With the release of the completely redesigned 6.0L Powerstroke in 2003 came a host of new upgrades and technology for these trucks. One of the upgrades was the release of the Variable Vane Turbo from Garrett. Unfortunately, this design saw several downfalls, mostly in that the vanes were prone to getting stuck in a single position due to soot accumulation. While Garrett may have made improvements to these turbos over the years, there are still several short comings to the factory turbo to what some of the aftermarket has come to produce.
Rotomaster builds this replacement that is designed to be a drop-in replacement for your factory unit but with several improvements over the factory unit. This turbo is upgraded to a higher flowing billet vane pack which has shown a 12 horsepower increase and additional flow capabilities in comparison to the stock turbo, as well as an upgraded stainless steel unison ring, and even comes with a brand new solenoid!
