The OFE series by South Bend revolutionized the diesel industry for manual transmissions. By combining an organic facing and feramic facing, they were able to combine the best of both worlds: great holding power up to 1000 pound feet of torque, with good street manners. This South Bend Organic / Feramic clutch is a great clutch for trucks with moderate performance upgrades and ideally suited to modified trucks that haul and daily drive, yet still like to play a little.
Feramic is a sintered iron clutch facing that has graphite impregnated into it. It has more holding power than ceramic; its engagement is much smoother than ceramic and won't eat up the flywheel like ceramic.
