The Dodge AS69 transmission in the 2013-2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins has proven itself to be a workhorse, especially when you compare it to predecessors such as the 68RFE and the AS68. Noted for its reliability under demanding conditions, the AS69 transmission's factory torque converter can begin to show signs of weakness. This primarily becomes apparent when exposed to heavy towing loads requiring high torque tolerance, rearing its head in the way of excessive heat and turbine slip.Suncoast's AS69 billet torque converter sets out to alleviate those particular pains. The AS69 Billet Torque Converter not only improves preventing turbine slip with a more efficient billet stator, but is also changed to a dual Torrington thrust bearing design. The apply piston and cover are both upgraded to a CNC Billet construction as well for reliability and increased performance.Friction materials are also upgraded to a higher friction coefficient for not only better clamping and holding capacity, but also allowing dramatically more efficient dissipation of heat over the factory's converter clutch.
