Death Wobble...nearly everyone has heard of it, especially if you have owned a Dodge Ram. In short, Death Wobble occurs when the wheels are allowed to move somewhat independently of each other, causing a violent shaking of the front end. There are numerous causes of this, one of which is due to the original "Y-Style" steering that came factory on the 2003-2008 model year Ram HD's. Essentially, it featured a pivot point between the two wheels where the drag link and main tie rod were attached. Later, in mid-model year 2008, Dodge released an updated T-Style steering that would eventually supersede all of the previous Y-Style systems. The T-style steering eliminated the pivot point between the wheels, but still had its own short comings.

One of the main drawbacks of the factory T-style steering is that the tie rod ends are allowed to rotate a significant amount at the knuckles. This not only causes excessive wear, but can also cause them to unexpectedly shear off, resulting in a complete loss of steering control. And finally, the factory steering is built out of substandard materials when used for anything besides cruising down the highway.

Synergy Manufacturing set out to change all of this and create the strongest drop in steering system available for Rams, and so they did! In order to eliminate the rotational issues of the tie rods, Synergy manufactured "wobble stoppers" that are literally a reinforcing cup that will not allow the tie rod to pivot on the main connecting bar. Further, the materials in the manufacturing process will not bend, break, and will undoubtedly last the lifetime of the truck.

One of the most important facets of this kit is that it is COMPLETELY drop in. Other manufacturers have built upgraded steering kits, but they all required the factory knuckles to either be replaced or drilled out. The Synergy kit features tie rod ends that have the exact same taper as the factory. Literally, drop it in and GO!

Optional Tie Rod Stabilizer Clamp & Hardware - Fabricated clamp to retain factory or aftermarket stabilizer with 1/2" mounting bolt.

Do you need to add this optional clamp kit? That really depends on your setup. If you are running a steering stabilizer that mounts in the stock location, then yes, you will need to ensure to add this. However, if you are running a PSC Hydraulic Assist, a relocated stabilizer, or no stabilizer at all, then you definitely do not need it, so no sense in making you purchase it!

Synergy Heavy Duty Steering Kit as used on Project Mjolnir - We had the opportunity to get our hands on a pre-production Synergy HD Steering Kit for use on our Project Mjolnir.

This truck is sporting a PSC Hydraulic Assist Steering to keep the massive 40" tires moving side to side, even when crawling in four low. Previous to installing the Synergy Steering Kit, we repeatedly snapped the factory tie rods due to the tremendous force of the hydraulic assist.

Lets just say that worry is a thing of the past with the Synergy Steering System.

Not worth the hype
Got this a few months back, and had it on my truck for about a month before I started having problems. My mechanic who does all the work on my truck knows how meticulous I am with parts and he made sure he installed it correctly according to the directions. But a month after installation is when the problems started occurring- as I was backing up to park one day I heard this loud and concerning clunk underneath and needless to say I was alarmed. After that my truck started pulling to the left and as it turned out the tie rod on the driver’s side was barely holding on up on further diagnosis. So I took this one off and went back to an OE style steering linkage and have since been in the process of completely redoing my whole front end because of the other problems this linkage has caused me. That being said, is it possible that I got a defective unit? Absolutely. Would I be willing to give it another try? Yes. But I don’t have the money to fork out for another unit at the moment plus the one I had is long gone and I don’t know what Synergy’s warranty policy is if they have one so I’m gonna have to wait and see what the future brings me

Awesome Heavy Duty Upgrade
Ordered this Steering kit 10 minutes after my stock tie rod came apart at the ball joint driving 65 down the highway (luckily the passenger wheel stayed straight while I pulled over to the side, Honestly its the luckiest I've been in years), Fast forward a year after installing it and I have had 0 issues what so ever. Ive whipped the truck going 80+ through the desert and it takes the abuse and ask for more. Along with the easy to maintain ball joints and the peace of mind that it won't fail on me Im happy with my purchase. If you see a one star review saying that big name alignment shops can't align it, just know Synergy supplies directions that make it easy to align yourself which takes you roughly 10-15 minutes. Plus you save money.

Not worth the money
Hello there, I have had this steering linkage for over a year now and had a couple different shops try to align it with no success. My truck constantly pulls to the left and has slop in the steering. The bars are nice and heavy but because of the curve they sag down and hit each other. I would not recommend buy this product. Brett

Hi Brett. Sounds like the drag link is not being installed and tightened down properly. When this happens, it will rotate forward and contact the tie-rod. I would review the instructions and follow them to a T. If you have any questions on this pelase shoot us a call. 888-993-4373

Great upgrade to my 05 RAM 3500 4X4
I decided to upgraded all my original worn out Dodge front end with New Synergy replacement parts and WOW what a difference! I started with the Synergy Steering Box Brace and a new Red Head Steering Gear box, added the Synergy Heavy Duty Steering Kit and a Bilstein 5100 Steering Stabilizer and finished with the Synergy Adjustable Track Bar. The installation was pretty easy on the floor of my garage. The installation instructions are well written and easy to follow, there was 1 point of confusion during the drag link alignment but a quick call to DPP Tech support cleared all that up. My new ride is ROCK SOLID the steering is very responsive and it rides better than when it was new. Great upgrade well worth the money!

I bought this kit to replace the y-steering on my 05. I have just installed it and have gone about 100 miles on it. It was easy to install and the adjustment is nice. Very heavy duty. Big improvement on the old system. I did not have the death wobble so I can't speak to that but it tightened up my wore out old system.

Best Bolt On Steering Kit Available
Finally a steering kit that is far superior over the Mopar kits. This kit is a true heavy duty steering upgrade. The best steering that has came out for these trucks. This is a one and done kit with tie rods that you can actually replace. We used this kit on a truck we took to Offroad Magazines Ultimate adventure and it is still on that same truck being used today. If you want to eliminate death wobble for good then look no further then this kit.

ehhhhhhhh..i dunno maybe i should have gone with another kit
first off i would like to praise DPP for having great customer service. i purchased this kit a while back when they were on backorder. after waiting about a month, i called the DPP to cancel my order and process a refund. one of the individuals pulled the steering kit they had on display and shipped out the floor model. unfortunately most of the bolts needed for the completion of the installation did not come in the packaging. i received two separate boxes that were torn at the bottom so I will assume that the boxes got torn during shipment and the package of bolts fell out. luckily, synergy is down the road from my town, so i called them up and explained what happened and they sent me a whole hardware kit for the tie rod and draglink. i also had to go out and buy a box of zerk fittings. the installation was super simple. the older tie rod did not fall right out without the help of a hammer and WD40. after install i drove my 07 megacab around the block. i didn't even put on the king shock steering damper i ordered from Thuren Fabrication. i installed the steering kit and cranked down on the adjustment nuts. i had measured the distance from knuckle to knuckle with the stock Y kit it had on previously. just driving it down my street the steering felt tighter and more refined. it didn't feel like each wheel had its own destination. the next morning, or should i say earlier today at 7 am on monday august 28, 2016. i went to the local tire and wheel shop to get it aligned and also to get my tires balanced. i also had them go ahead and install the brand new steering damper from King Shocks. when i walked down the street to pick up my truck, my enthusiasm was killed almost 3 minutes after i cranked on the engine. the truck was aligned, the tires were balanced, but the steering felt like absolute slop. I'm still running the stock gear box with the stock pittman arm. my truck has a 2inch leveling kit. i am running 35 inch Atturo trail blades. can't type more

Yes, This steering kit was designed with clearance in mind. There is a bend in the Tie Rod to clear the front diff. However if you DO have a aftermarket differential cover, you may be limited.

I have had my kit installed only a couple months and i am hearing a lot of metal popping or creaking sounds from what seems to be the wobble stoppers when the steering is turned to full left or right and on the way back to center happens again. Seems to be that when turning the tie rod is pivoting down from the pressure of the drag link is pushing on it when the steering is turning and seems to cause the wobble stoppers to pop off the little grove/lip they sit on the tie rod ends or something else is hitting but are showing the rubber coming out of thew wobblestoppers. Please advise as to if I have a factory defective part or if you have experienced something like this. I can send you a video if that helps. Please let me know. Thanks for your help. Micah?

Sounds kind of strange, can you send us some pictures of your setup. Angle of the drag link and the tie rod ends at full lock left and right.

Will this work with the BDS dual steering stabilizer? I have a 07 dodge 2500 with a 6"" long arm with a drop pitman arm bracket and just want to make sure it will work because I plan on getting the dual stabilizer set up.?

This will require a steering stabilizer with a loop - loop application found on the 2009+ trucks.
