Large diesel engines with larger turbochargers can experience compressor surge when coming off the throttle. The deceleration of the engine can be a restriction on the outlet of the turbocharger causing compressor surge. This can be disastrous on a turbo system which is producing high amounts of boost. The BOV controller can vent this build up of pressure, protecting the turbocharger. This can reduce the amount of rebuilds on your turbocharger as well as improve acceleration between gears.
The Turbo smart BOV controller is an electronic device which controls the pressure signal to the BOV. It works by detecting a negative voltage change in throttle position. It then energizes a solenoid to vent all of the air out of the BOV cap, causing a pressure differential between the piston of the BOV and the cap which will vent pressure from the intake system.

This is a full kit with the hand switch and BOV correct? Along with all the connections need.?
This is a complete kit but there is just a controlled that gets mounted under the hood. I am not aware of a hand switch that is included.
Does this require welding?
Yes it would, or a location to mount this to the charge piping or intake.
Whould this BOV be compatible with a Steed Speed manifold??
A wastegate is what you would need to go with a manifold. The BOV would go on a charge pipe somewhere. SA
Will this work on a stock 2019 l5p??
Hi Jason This is a universal part, which means with enough time and money it can fit on anything and everything. Given that this truck more than likely, at this time, has the stock turbo on it, a blow-off valve would not be necessary. -Ben

You could make it work on that truck. Not sure why you would need it though. Not something that is typically needed on a Diesel. -Sands
