If you're looking at this product page, it probably means you're in the same boat as many, and have a dead or dying VP44 injection pump. The factory injection pump that came standard on the 98.5-02 Dodge Cummins trucks could best be described as a Band-Aid, or temporary fix, while Bosch was in the process of producing the common rail injection pumps that would be featured on the 2003 and newer trucks. While the VP44 is not necessarily a bad pump, they do have the highest failure rate compared to any of the other pumps, and most of the issues stem from inadequate lift pump pressure. We can do these pumps in a package deal with FASS lift pumps, BD lift pumps, Pure Flow lift pumps, BD Stealth Covers, BD Low Pressure Warning Lights, gauges, etc. We will help you decide what is best for you to help protect your new VP44 from future damage. These pumps are re-manufactured using all factory Bosch replacement parts and calibrated on a Bosch test stand. The pumps are re-manufactured to strict Bosch standards with the most recently upgraded parts and the pump is calibrated to current specs. Further, these pumps feature new Bosch electronics and housing to ensure you're getting the highest quality pump on the market. Yes, you will find lesser expensive units, but they will typically feature remanufactured electronics that have shown a high failure rate. And.....do you REALLY want to have to do this job twice (or more)? IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING CORE: If you have been running biodiesel of B20 or above this could jeopardize the core being accepted. If you have been running vegetable oil, heating oil, kerosene, transmission fluid or anything similar your core will be considered non-rebuildable and your core charge will not be refunded. Tapping the wire, installing a stealth cover, or running anything besides diesel or biodiesel blends of B20 or above can potentially void your warranty. For the diesel market, Bosch gained considerable notoriety with the design and implementation of the common rail fuel injection system found originally on LB7 Duramax’s, then two years later with the 2003 Cummins, and finally available in 2008 on the 6.4L Powerstroke. While this may have been when Bosch was most noticed in this industry, their roots go back much further, building the original equipment HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pumps) for early Powerstrokes, the VE and VP44 injection pumps on Cummins, and injectors throughout nearly all applications. For current era light duty diesels, basically you can nearly conclude that if fuel touches it, it was most likely originally built by Bosch.

And while we continue to mention injection pumps and injectors, its SO much more than that. As previously mentioned, if fuel touches it, you can be pretty sure that Bosch made it, including the Fuel Control Actuators (FCA) also known as an MPROP that are mounted to the injection pump, Rail Pressure Sensors, and even Pressure Relief Valves.
