Keeping your Dodge transmission cool is the #1 way to make it last. And we've found that the best way to keep it cool is with an aluminum finned extra capacity transmission pan, such as this unit from ATS that holds an additional 4.5 quarts over the stock pan. This is a direct replacement of your factory pan and features a magnetic drain plug and is pre-tapped for a transmission temperature sensor probe.
OPTIONAL BILLET ALUMINUM FILTER COUPLER: ATS strongly suggests replacing the plastic coupler with their billet aluminum filter coupler (available from the menu). These allow the installer to torque the filter in place like an oil filter to ensure a positive seal. The factory plastic couplers are very prone to cracking if over-torqued. If under-torqued, engine vibrations will eventually cause the filter to fall off. In either situation, transmission oil pressure is lost and will severely damage the transmission.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This pan will NOT work on Cab Chassis or later model High Output versions, as they use an Aisin transmission, and not the 68RFE.
