Your 2001-04 6.6L LB7 GM Duramax came with a 3.5" turbo back exhaust from the factory, equipped with a catalytic converter and a fairly "thick" muffler. The factory turbo direct pipe is considered 3.5", but is more a flattened out exhaust pipe for factory clearance issues. As long as you're not going hog wild on power, the factory exhaust size and turbo direct pipe are adequate. However, if you want to add a distinctive look or sound to your Duramax, or try to optimize exhaust flow without spending a lot of money, this can be done by adding any variety of tips or aftermarket mufflers to the truck. We carry numerous exhaust tip and muffler options, as well as muffler delete pipes, turbo direct pipes, and the list goes on.
