Having a good set of gauges is one of the most critical items that an owner of any turbo diesel should have, and your L5P Duramax is no exception.Whether you're towing a stock trailer or racing down the quarter mile, having the ability to monitor vital engine statistics is extremely crucial.We carry a full line of analog gauges from Isspro and Autometer, and we even carry full color digital screen gauges from Edge in their CS2 and CTS2 lines.We also carry mounting systems from Autometer to ensure your gauges have a sturdy home.Just remember, no matter what, you can never have too many gauges.
On all diesel trucks, having the ability to monitor exhaust gas temperature is critical, so having a good pyrometer is a must.All pyrometer (EGT) gauges come complete with gauge, wiring, and thermocouple for drilling into the exhaust stream.For those interested in a digital gauge, the Edge Insight is a great choice for L5P owners, because there is absolutely no drilling and/or tapping required.The truck already has thermocouples in the exhaust for the computer to read exhaust gas temperatures, you just need a gauge so YOU can see it!
For owners of automatic transmission trucks, having a gauge to properly monitor transmission oil temperature is a great idea (we have found the factory gauge to be very inaccurate).Another very important gauge is a rail pressure gauge. With the release of the L5P, GM abandoned the use of Bosch pumps to Denso, bringing about speculation as to the reliability of the fuel system, in general. By having the ability to keep a watchful eye on your rail pressure, you'll have advanced notice if something is about to leave you stranded. Finally, one of the last popular gauge options for your Duramax is the addition of a boost gauge (again, we have found the factory gauge to be very inaccurate). So whether you choose to run analog or digital gauges, we've go the gauge and the mount for you.
