The control panel on the face of the CoPilot allows the driver to adjust the lockup of the transmission once a certain amount of boost is created in order to avoid the engine being bogged down from excessively early converter lockup. Adjustment of the CoPilot is done with simple UP and DOWN arrows on the face of the controller that typically gets mounted under the dash, similar to a brake control.

Can it be turned off while driving .... And what's it for ... I bought this truck and I know nothing about all the stuff 😂😂🤔 any help .... 07 dodge 3500 5.9 ATS 48Re trans. With the co-pilot With up graded transducer and governor pressure sen only know that because code thrown for it and replaced with OEM parts and bam that didn't work either so replaced again with the upgraded ones like the ones taken out 70mm turbo upgrade has engine brake on shifter kN filter Yes I'm the Girl that bought a truck that didn't notice these things while test driving 🙃🙃?
It is a Torque converter lockup controller. These transmissions have a lockup clutch in the torque converter that typically will lock up in 4th it almost feels like a another shift. You can raise or lower the MPH you want that to happen at. If you were racing the truck and wanted to the converter to lock up later so it didn't bog down you could do that. A unlocked converter creates more heat though. DppSands
Hi. I have an ram 3500 2004.5 model withe the original 48RE tranny. The workshop i bought it from had changed the engine and installed one from a wrack 2007 model. will there be any compatibility issues with this co-pilot type. are all necessary wiring connections and installation manual in the box.?
I don't know that I fully understand the question. Did they change the trans too or do you still have the same transmission out of the 04.5? Did you not reuse the ecm and harness of of the original 04.5 engine? Please email [email protected] so we can try and sort this out for you. Thank you. Cooper
