Diesel Fuel Shortage in North Dakota

Diesel NewsTags , ,

Approximately 50 diesel trucks waited for diesel fuel at NuStar Energy fuel terminal in Jamestown, North Dakota last week.

The NuStar Energy location was reported to be the only fuel stop in the region that wasn’t already associated with gas station chains, which drove diesel trucks from all around to the terminal.

The NuStar Energy terminal, which was working at full capacity, kept diesel trucks lined up for over 12 hours.

Some diesel trucks were from out of the area, as diesel fuel is low throughout North Dakota.  The shortage is said to be caused by increased need for diesel fuel for the seasonal harvest.  However, the production of diesel fuel cannot increase along with seasonal demand; NuStar Energy performs at full pace no matter what season.
