Your Cummins powered Ram has numerous coolers hanging out behind the grill. I mean, come on, do you really need an intercooler, radiator, transmission cooler, A/C condenser, and a power steering cooler? Well, yes, you do! All of these coolers are extremely important to ensure that not only oil, but also incoming air, are kept at an optimal temperature. However, as you increase both the power and physical miles on your truck, your factory coolers are unable to perform their job as effectively, and high temperatures are the single most detrimental factor to powertrain longevity and available power. In short, as oil temperatures rise, the oil breaks down and loses its friction modifiers. In air, as temperatures rise, it becomes less dense. The good news is we offer solutions to keep your truck running cool, delivering additional power and longevity.
Specifically, adding an upgraded aftermarket intercooler to your Cummins will deliver one of the biggest reductions in EGT (Exhaust Gas Reduction) compared to nearly any other product. Due to their bar and plate design coupled with larger end tanks, the engineering that goes into them is far superior to that of the stock intercooler, in turn allowing for a drastic increase in overall airflow.
Another related product that we highly recommend to owners of any model year Cummins is that of upgraded intercooler boots. The stock rubber boots are well known for cracking, causing severe air leaks. These leaks cause massive pressure drops in the air system, meaning you're simply not able to pump the air in and out of your engine. Even the smallest of leak will cause a very noticeable drop in power and rise in exhaust gas temperatures, where a large leak will render the truck useless. We offer silicone hoses with optional spring loaded clamps to ensure you'll never be stranded from something as simple as a cracked intercooler hose.
