This pump is designed to mount onto the frame rail where it is closer to the fuel tank, which allows it to work more effectively, as compared to in the engine bay where it is forced to fuel a considerable distance.

NOTE: This pump kit is designed for trucks with the lift pump in the original location located behind the factory fuel filter canister.
