For those unfamiliar with the Aero line of mufflers, they are a compact stainless steel muffler designed to be added to nearly any exhaust system that offers unrestricted airflow, while having unremarkable sound characteristics. The XL line of the AeroTurbines are considered their resonated version designed specifically to cancel out any in-cab drone that is typical of many aftermarket mufflers.
Built from T304 stainless steel inside and out, this muffler does not have any of the traditional packing found in many other mufflers that is known to breakdown over time, but rather uses a series of louvered baffles that are also designed to literally "suck" the exhaust away from the engine, even faster than a straight pipe, which results in lower exhaust gas temperatures.

What is the overall length??
Per our site: 4"" ID Inlet 4"" ID Outlet 6"" Body Diameter 16"" Body Length 26"" Overall Length
When do you expect this to be in stock??
No eta on those mufflers at the moment.
Is this a slipp on and clamp over the four inch exhaust or a straight weld on muffler?
This will slip over 4"" exhaust, you may then clamp or weld it.
Where would be the proper position to install? front of exhaust, under cab, or just before the rear axle ??
That muffler is going to work best placed as far forward in the exhaust as possible.
I currently run a Gibson cat back setup on my 2005 5.9. The power gain is fine, but the drone is getting worse. Does the 4040XL have similar power gains and does anyone know if it is quieter than the Gibson setup? Also, are these legal in CA? Thanks!?
Not familiar with the Gibson system so I can't say if this would be louder then that muffler or not. It is typically a little quieter then a standard straight through performance muffler. The Aero muffler would flow just as well as a straight through muffler, you would see the same power gains there. The muffler alone should not have any issue being legal in CA on a Cat back system.-Sands
