HEAT! This is the number one killer of transmissions. Whether you tow or hotrod your diesel, transmission failures are something that we all worry about. You can help to alleviate some of that worry with one of BD's Double Stacked Xtruded Transmission Oil Coolers. This is the MOST capable cooling device for your transmission on the market.
BD has double stacked their proven Xtruded Transmission Oil Cores to deliver over 40,000 BTU/HR of cooling and over 350% temperature drop versus the factory system - still 136% better than BD's standard single core kit.
Using the same Micro Extruded bar technology as in BD's air-to-air Charge Air coolers, the 200 Micro Extruded passages in each cooler (400 in total) provide a large surface area to transfer heat for external air flow cooling while turbulent oil flow design promotes a more complete cooling.
Large 5/8-inch ports prevent inlet/outlet restriction and furnace brazed rails have been tested to 300psi of pressure. The thermostatically controlled 80-watt, 10-inch, 800 CFM electric fan offers ultimate automatic oil temperature control. Xtruded Double Stacked Transmission Oil Cooler packages are available to accommodate 1/2" and 5/8" transmission cooler lines and come complete with all fittings, clamps, hoses, hardware and a Build-It-Yourself galvanized bracket kit for quicker and cleaner installation, no wasting time fabricating brackets out of scrap metal. The pre-wired loomed harness with fuse and relay comes with OEM style sealed connectors to resist the elements.
Please choose from the options of your transmission oil line size. If you prefer to receive only the cooler itself and no brackets or lines, you may choose the "Cooler Only" option.

What temp is the thermostat set at? Also, can the thermostat be stacked with a toggle switch to manually turn on the fan before it reaches it's predetermined set temperature to cycle??
You could hook a manual bypass switch up for sure probably would be no need. The thermostat is set it 180 on 165 off.
Are these parts covered under any warranty? I just installed this summer and the fan motor has already burned out on my assembly.?
Yes, please call BD diesel directly.
Where is the optimum location you would recommend to install this cooler (it is a much thicker unit than others)? Is it a pusher, or puller type unit??
It comes as a pusher fan but can be swapped, the fan blade is reversible.
Is this a drop-in replacement for the current transmission cooler? I have a 2008 Ram 3500 6.7.?
No it is not. It is an auxiliary cooler to add in the system. It will not replace the factory cooler on that truck.
