99-03 7.3L Ford Powerstroke Diesel Cold Air Intakes
Changing out the factory air intake on your 99-03 7.3L Ford Powerstroke is one of the best perfomance enhancing modifications that you can do to your truck. The factory airbox is restrictive, even on a stock truck. If you plan on adding a chip or progammer, the need to upgrade the factory air intake multiplies. At Diesel Power Products we carry a large selection of Ford Powerstroke cold air intakes from the best names in the diesel world, including S&B Filters, AEM Brute Force, AFE, Icebox, Airaid, Volant, TrueFlow and BD. We also carry Ford's very own upgrade kit known as the Ford AIS, which simply stands for Air Induction System. The AIS features a huge Dondaldson PowerCore filter which was first used on the Abrams tanks in Desert Storm. The advantage of the AIS is the superior filtration of the PowerCore filter along with it's sealed design which insulates the intake air from undercab heat. The only complaint with the AIS has always been it's tendency to "suck down" the fliter minder when you add a chip or programmer to the truck. Our solution to that problem is the DPP Foam Sleeve modification. You simply cut a hole in the side of the AIS box, add our Foam Sleeve between the AIS and the existing hole in the factory fender and the problem is solved. If you prefer the sweet sound of turbo whistle while you drive we also offer the well known Tymar Air Intake System which features a massive Donaldson paper element, hydrophobic (water repelling) filter.
The net results of adding any aftermarket cold air intake are better airflow, better fuel economy and lower EGT's.
