BD's Turbo Thruster II provides a 40% increase in airflow over the stock turbo design with no compressor surging or choked-off turbine flow. The Turbo Thruster II features BD's exclusive 66mm Ballistic Billet compressor wheel that can handle high wheel speeds and boost pressures with ease! The modified compressor housing and back plate casting improves turbo spool up time and allows full housing rotation for easier installation.

The large 1.0 A/R turbine housing handles higher exhaust flow and eliminates the "choke" condition experienced with some turbos with .84 housings. The cartridge (or rotating assembly) uses journal bearings and a new 360-degree bronze thrust washer for extended bearing life and making future servicing easier.

Designed as a direct, bolt-in replacement for the stock turbo, the Turbo Thruster II has superior pressure ratios, provides cooler EGT's, no compressor surging and capable of developing up to 36psi of boost pressure with BD's exclusive Heavy Duty Waste Gate with Turn Buckle adjustment. OBS BD Turbo Thruster II
My truck is a 1995 F250 - Auto - 4.10 Gearing. I am supper impressed with the Turbos performance. I unfortunately did all my upgrades at once so can not speak to how much gains came from just turbo. My performance upgrades are: 1. Baby Swamps injectors 2. BD Turbo Thruster II 3. Cold Air intake - S&B 4. Free Flowing Exhaust 5. 3" Down Pipe 4. 6 Position Tuner w/ swamps tunes pos 1-stock 2-high idle 3-light tow 4-heavy tow 5-street 6-race 5. New up pipes- stock 6. Gauges - EGT, Tranny, Boost 7. Mishumoto Radiator Performance now vs stock is CRAZY. I have to watch my gauges on street and race it gets wild. My egts and boost will blow by safe levels if opened up. I cut it loose once and my boost tapped 41psi and egts were well above 1350F. I prefer to drive it on light tow, it keeps everything (boost/egts) pretty much in check with pretty much the entire pedal to be used. My next steps on engine are head studs, BTS transmission and intercooler. But like everyone else says if you drive with your head you will be fine. I would recommend the setup especially for towing. Towed a trailer full of wood approx 13000lbs and didn't even know it was back there really. I have not towed my camper with it yet but am anticipating some EGT issues going up grades here. The turbo sounds great and totally lights up around 11psi jumps through teens and climbs quick through 20's. I did loose 1mpg after all performance Mods. My truck took 1st place in show and shine at 2019 Nebraska Diesel Show for Fords.

I installed this in a 96 7.3 Powerstroke with stage 2 injectors. The truck is extremely powerful. It boosts about 36 psi with an off the shelf tuner in tow mode. This is a fantastic upgrade.

That is correct, These are a complete drop in unit.

That turbo is a non-wastegated turbo for that 94.5-97 truck.

I have a 97 7.3 F350 with a 4"" exhaust and a cold air intake that we use for towing heavy loads, --- it also has a 75hp 6 position tuner that I also want to replace with your 6 position switch or possibly the edge evolution tuner --- which would you recommend ? The tuner that allows for a high idle is a plus for Southern Nevada air conditioning, does the edge have that feature? Will I also need to replace the pedestal, and will I need to add the Banks Intercooler, or will the turbo alone reduce the EGT's? If I had to do it in steps which would be better to add first, the turbo, or the intercooler??

1. We would recommend a good chip most of those have a high idle or can have one programmed. 2. It would be best to replace the pedestal with a Non-EBV one. 3. With more boost and more aggressive tuning we would highly recommend an intercooler. I would do the intercooler first, then turbo, then more aggressive tuning.

Does this turbo come with a new exhaust Turbo Outlet without the EBPV? Or are you required to buy one if doing the EBPV delete pedestal??

The outflow valve is not included. You may install the stock unit or do a EBV delete while you are there.
